Which ev do you go for ?

So your thinking of getting an ev, there are a couple of things to consider, how much range do you need and linked to that is what charging network should you join of any.
So look at your daily commute, how many miles there and back, can you charge at work, are you able to charge at home overnight ?

Lots of things to think about, ideally you want to be able to plug in at home, charge overnight, most cars have a timer you can set to help with this, then in the morning you have a full charge.
This is very useful if you are looking at a plug in hybrid (phev) too, as your commute may be possible on electric only, this means your fuel bills will drastically drop, if you have a solar pv system on you house you can even use that when your home to effectively fuel your car for less than free, it will be less than free as you will get paid via you feed in tariff for the power you use from your solar.

Start taking note of the milage you travel and see if you can do this in an ev on one charge, there are charge points available and also rapid chargers that are normally use for battery only ev's these will give you an 80% charge in 30 to 45 minutes.

Ever wondered why 80% always seems to be quoted ? I certainly did, I will be covering this in another post about batteries and charging.
